The P-220-I Cheetah is an expiermental rocket/pisrton powered hybrid interceptor. A standard 1000HP inline engine is mounted at the nose of the aircraft, and a rocket engine with 5,620 pounds of thrust mounted on the belly of the aircraft. The rocket motor (AG-1) is used to climb to intercept enemy bombers, and then can be turned off once there to conserve fuel. Two 37MM cannons give the Cheetah the prefect quick strike capablity for taking down mutiple bombers before having to return to the base.
