Experimental turbo fan VTOL reaches Mach 1 while climbing at a 30 degree angle. To takeoff, pull the VTOL to lowest level and ramp the power up to 100%. Once airborn and when the nose starts tilting upwards, shift the VTOL back to middle level, pull the gear up and set the angle of climb to desired position. Top speed is about 900 mph at 30,000 feet.
