As prt of a new initiative from the DOD, Smith Flight Works was selected as the contract winner for their cross-pilot platform. This initiative required an aircraft that could be manned by a traditional pilot or operated from a remote station in a drone capacity.The primary function of the Iris is reconnaissance. There are plans to develop the aircraft further for both law enforcement and civil surveying.
VTOL slider to rotate camera.
Ag2 to jettison the drop tank.
87% power between 4 and 5 thousand feet with a touch of trim up will produce level flight. Seriously just a minor ammount of trim applied.
