BG-112M2

BG-112M2 'Yanto' is an FSV, a formidable successor to the BG-112A, designed for versatile combat scenarios. This modernization variant, crafted solely by BlackGearCompany (BGC), boasts enhanced capabilities for both land and amphibious operations.

The BG-112M2 'Yanto' is armed with a 112mm low velocity gun and a coaxial machine gun, ensuring firepower superiority on the battlefield. Its lightweight design, weighing in at 9 tons, facilitates airborne missions and amphibious assaults. The vehicle's 8x8 wheel configuration and V6 engine provide exceptional maneuverability, allowing swift navigation through diverse terrains.

Equipped with advanced optics for the commander and a revamped engine variant, the BG-112M2 'Yanto' represents a significant evolution from its predecessor. Its propulsion system has been upgraded to a pump-jet for amphibious operations, offering stealth and efficiency, albeit at the cost of increased fuel consumption. While the engine remains efficient, it does produce a noticeable level of noise, though efforts have been made to minimize it.

In combat, the crew of three operates seamlessly, with the commander doubling as the gunner and overseeing the vehicle's strategic maneuvers. The driver and assistant reloader work in tandem, ensuring rapid reloads with the small auto-loader, achieving a formidable fire rate of X rounds per minute.

With a maximum speed of 100 km/h on land and 37 km/h on water, equivalent to approximately 62 mph and 23 mph respectively, the BG-112M2 'Yanto' covers extensive distances with ease. Its operational range of roughly 500 km ensures prolonged missions without the need for frequent refueling.

Lore

The BG-112M2 'Yanto' traces its origins back to the early 1950s, with the inception of the BG-112 series. Initially designed in 1955 and finalized in 1957 at our headquarters in Luxembourg, the BG-112 faced initial production challenges. However, subsequent iterations, notably the BG-112A, garnered success, particularly in the tumultuous landscapes of the Middle East, with 400 units deployed. This success was facilitated through a joint venture between BlackGearCompany (BGC) and NochAviation. However, after the 10-year contract ended, little was heard about NochAviation and BGC.

In the 1970s, a new chapter unfolded with the Indonesian branch expressing interest in a revamped variant. Thus, the BG-112M series emerged, albeit plagued by issues ranging from fuel inefficiency to cumbersome weaponry. These setbacks, particularly the vehicle's propensity to become mired in the mud due to Indonesia's tropical geography, prompted the necessity for innovation.

The BG-112M faced operational challenges in the Indonesian tropical geography. It often became stuck in mud due to its mobility limitations. However, BG-112M's mobility problems were resolved with the invaluable contributions of an engineer named Yanto. His expertise and dedication were instrumental in overcoming the challenges, leading to the creation of the BG-112M2. In honor of Yanto's pivotal role in the project's success, the vehicle was aptly named 'Yanto.'

The BG-112M2 'Yanto' stands as a testament to relentless innovation, driven by the collaborative efforts of dedicated engineers and designers, poised to uphold its legacy on the modern battlefield. It is also a symbol of triumph over adversity, and a beacon of hope for future generations of armored vehicles.
