When i was in Michigan a few days ago, since im a big HO scale train guy, i stopped at a hobby shop there just looking around and the guy who owned the shop built from scratch alot of the trains he was selling. now, i dont know if i will do a progress post about this but over the last 2 years i have been building a HUGE HO scale model railway tabel. now, i have been into logging trains for about 3 or so years and have been looking for a 2-truck logging shay steam locomotive for my layout because it is modeled to be like a 1880-1940 logging Forrest. now back to the hobby shop, i asked the man who owned it if he had any Shay locomotives somewhere that i could buy. he told me to follow him and took me to this other room that had a whole lot of Logging locomotives for HO. as i was looking around, i saw what looked like a big boy, shay and tank combined. i asked if i could take a look at it and he said yes. when i first picked it up, it looked like something that the germans would make in ww2. so, i asked him for the price and if it was DC or NCC power and he first told me the price was around $340 and then told me that it could be run on DC or NCC but it wouldn't work on my HO scale track but would work on a guide rail. so, i bought it and brought it home to see how it would work. it worked awsome and i hope to get a guide rail set up soon so i can get it up and running soon! also, all credits gose to writerscrusaders and the maker of the tracks.
