@Solent19 So don't claim you did the math.
A Mk 82 bomb is roughly 35% explosive.
Also, TNT values can be quite misleading with large explosions.
I'm no physicist, of course, but still.
@Graingy well if the entire bomb was made from TNT, the weight would be a bit more than 100'000'000 kilograms (about 100 kilotons) and the yield of the tsar bomba was like 50 megatons.
the star thing was just guessed though.
@Solent19 Did you take into account the bomb casing weight?
And how did you calculate nuclear yield? Fission or Thermonuclear? How many stages?
if that was all filled completely with TNT, it would have about 40 times less energy than the tsar bomba. that's crazy.
and if it was a nuke it would probably literally turn earth into a star.
