A Flying Boat. This was my idea of a large cruiser of the type that flew island to island in the Paciific. Before the coming of jets these were the luxury ride to Hawaii and beyond. The wing is first effort at smoothing. It makes a nice wing but add weight. It is very large but it lifts off and is easy to land without a runway. The lower part of the hull has sponsons on both sides. These helped stabilize the craft while in the water and facilitated boarding.
