NVM bois SledDriver helped me out!! (i'm not deleting this cuz then....idk. nothing bad will happen if I delete this post right?)
I'm trying to do this thing [seekrit] but I can't for the life of me get it to fly. Currently, I ahve trim up for VTOL, throttle and 1 for thrust, throttle and 2 for yaw, 8 for gyro. I want it to be able to VTOL, and then fly normally like a fighter. But when I go forward and turn off gyro, it goes crazy. I've tried a bunch of stuff but nothing works. If you get this to fly, you get a huge shoutout on the final and some upvotes. plzzzzzzz

@SledDriver Ok, that makes a lot of sense. Again, thank you so much!
@Dynimerous I'll answer your question here, because I'll be deleting my post shortly (I don't like my posts pages cluttered). The main problem with your build is very simple - the center of mass (CoM) is behind the center of lift (CoL), which is what causes it to go haywire when the gyro is turned off. For a stable airplane you need the CoM to always be in front of the CoL.
Second, your wing loading is too high. Aim to keep it below 200 kg/m^2.
Third, the VTOL engines are not aligned with the center of mass. To rise into the air stably, the total thrust of the VTOL engines needs to be firing straight down through the CoM. To keep this simple, use just one hidden engine for VTOL, and then add as many cosmetic engines as you like.
Here you go. This thing was so messed up, I deleted all the wings and engines and started from scratch. Flies quite well now, and the controls are simplified. Press Brake for VTOL takeoff, then release brake, throttle up and fly as normal. Gyroscope can be kept on or off, flight handling is a bit damped with gyro on, but that's all.
I attempted a fix but I just simply can't get this to work, sorry
Then take of the gyro and use VTOL RCN instead (maybe)
Try turning your physics setting up to high then try again that usually fixes problems like this
