Kingsley Vigilant AE.2 is an Eldorian Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) aircraft developed by Kingsley Dynamics. Commonly referred to as an AWACS (Airborne Warning and Control System), the Vigilant is based on the airframe of the Boeing 707 and provides all-weather surveillance, command, control, and communications capabilities. It is currently operated by the Royal Eldorian Air Force and allied nations across the Third Continent.
The aircraft features a distinctive rotating radar dome (rotodome) mounted above the fuselage, which houses small XPH-2 passive electronically scanned array (PESA) radar system developed by Crownspire Systems.
The AE.2 is the second production variant of the Vigilant, equipped with upgraded Pendrake Power PP TF700A-1 engines, allowing for improved cruising altitude and speed. Despite its age, the Vigilant AE.2 remains in active service, with its operational lifespan extended until 2050.
