Backstory:

In the last days of Decabrian's reign over Old Mondstadt (now called Stormterror's Lair, where the Battlecarrier Stormterror is stationed at present) the people were dissatisfied with how Decabrian of imprisoned them in the city by casting a wall of wind around the entire city, to protect it ftom Andrius's blizzards. In the latter days of Decabrian's reign however, the blizzards have all but subsided, and the people wanted freedom, yet Decabrian would deny them that...

This lead to the establishment of the Mondstadt Liberation Forces, under the codename "Windblume" and would build their army of liberation warriors under Decabrian's nose. Development of technologies by the MLF progressed rapidly, and before the initial battle they already had a working prototype of a supersonic VTOL tiltjet fighter.

The fighter, designated the VN-31, proved somewhat costly to mass produce, but would also be a valuable asset to the MLF's air division, as its leaders deemed that they may need a VTOL capable fighter on the scenario that Old Mondstadt's airports would be damaged and bombed to unusable status.

When enough units were built, a Three pronged preemptive strike against Decabrian's forces was initiated. Squadrons of VN-31s took out the most of the unsuspecting Mondstadt Royal Forces before they could launch a proper counter-offensive, they just had to scramble their aircraft as their airports are being bombed.

In the ensuing battles, Decabrian would be slain, and among the Windblume warriors, three aces would be noted: the Red Haired Warrior, Gunhildr, The Nameless Bard( who was Barbatos' wingman, later also killed in combat). The end result of the conflict has Decabrian slain, Barbatos elevated to the status of Godhood, and Mondstadt having been liberated, the land now free to be explored. The citizens have also been relocated closer to Cider Lake, where the current Mondstadt stands, leaving the war torn city in ruins.

Seeing that the people of new Mondstadt have settled in, Barbatos departs in his VN-31T with the serial number 21-0616 to let the people live free. But the Stormterror threat would call Barbatos (Now disguised as Venti) back to his people.

Fighting alongside Dandelion Knight Jean Gunhildr and Diluc Ragnvidr to reclaim Stormterror, the aircraft would carry the HLDH (Holy Lyre Del Himmel) ECM pod to subdue the Stormterror's hijacked Control Computers without damaging the carrier, but it was damaged during an evasive maneuver, and it was revealed that Venti was indeed the archon Barbatos. With renewed hope, the ragtag group made the final charge at Stormterror's Lair.

In the battle to reclaim Stornterror, Venti/Barbatos recalls fighting alongside the ancestors of Diluc and Jean all those years ago...

I'm just gonna be honest, he/she looks a little like the A-40B, or more so the A-40B looks like the VN-31 (This released 11 days ago, but the A-40B released only 3)
    Perhaps they're related?
