Ahh, yes, the Ilyushin IL-2. Does this plane need introduction? This was the primary ground-attack aircraft of the Soviet army in World War II. Stalin himself insisted that IL-2s were "As important to the Red Army as bread and water". Throughout the years of the war, the IL-2 was mass-produced on a scale never seen before, and to this day remains the most-produced combat aircraft of all time, with over 36,000 units built.
