The Volotok VF-18 Seal, introduced in 1955, was an air superiority fighter developed by the Frostia Liberation Air Force (FLAF) as a cost-effective solution for bolstering its aerial capabilities. The aircraft's design was directly influenced by a Soviet MiG-19, which crash-landed in Frostian territory. Under the leadership of engineer Mikhail Sokotin, Frostian engineers reverse-engineered the Soviet fighter, integrating local innovations to adapt the design to Frostia's needs and manufacturing capabilities.

Equipped with powerful engines and a focus on agility, the VF-18 Seal proved to be a reliable and versatile platform, excelling in dogfights and regional air patrols. Its low production and operational costs made it a practical choice for the FLAF, allowing for large-scale deployment during the Cold War. Despite its limitations compared to newer models, the VF-18 remained in service until the 1970s, showcasing Frostia's ability to create functional and economical defense solutions while fostering domestic engineering expertise.
