[FSF] RE-4 Collider
"Collider"
Crazy? I was crazy once. They forgot to put me in a rubber room. Then I went and made this thing.
On the surface
The RE-4 doesn't look that bad. The jet engines are on the wingtips, rather than the center or inner parts of the wing, but that's fine. Simply an odd design choice, and nothing more, right? Nope. This thing pitches slow, and its roll is messed up. Thanks to the weight of the engines on the wings, it literally has to accelerate into a roll, so you've got two options: controlled but slow roll, or fast but hard-to-control roll. The armor is pretty mid too. But if you can work around these, the Collider is actually a decent aircraft. It's the fastest one in the entire series (at least of Phase 1), and features four, simultaneously firing guns which can, when used well, decimate any opponent quickly. Yet there's one final catch; you might wanna watch your fuel.
Trivia
-The RE-4, is, unironically, the 4th FSF plane.
-The RE-4 was originally a lighter shade of green, much like my first AMX-10M.
-The Collider is based on the German Wunderwaffles, but I think it's safe to say that not even they could be insane enough to conjure up this... thing.

Somebody i used to know:)
@KPLBall
The Triebflugel is hilarious for some dang reason lol
Yeah the RE-4 is nothing compared to some Wunderwaffes... that's why the RE-4N exists...
@TheUltimatePlaneLover correction on the 3rd part of trivia, the German would have thought this was too tame
Just look up the Focke Would Triebflugel fighter
Collider?
BANZAIIIIIII
@KPLBall
Aite, got two
Here's the first ever example of the AMX in combat. Yes, it's the same one that served in the S-War.
Another one
Turns out, these aren't the best, but the only examples of the AMX-10M in the M-War.
@KPLBall Ohh I see...
Thing is, the RE-4 WAS that shade of green, but I thought it looked weird, so halfway through the building process, I changed it to the darker shade which it currently retains.
The AMX-10M ultimately received similar treatment, with the original version linked in said question sporting a light-green livery, but later receiving a dark green camo because I thought it looked better lol. As you may have noticed, the AMX-10M in the S-War articles is dark green, but during its limited service in the M-War, it was light green. I'ma try to find one of said articles.
@TheUltimatePlaneLover on the trivia
@KPLBall Huh?
Also question 2 is wrong :D
@KPLBall Sorta what I was going for with the Warhead (FSF: Stage 2)
P-80 with engine on the wings
IDEA!: INVERSE F-89D ROCKETS IN NOSE, JETS ON THE WING!
that is...interesting, to say the least
