The Republic of Singapore Air Force operates 62 F-16 Fighting Falcons, all of which are advanced F-16C/D/D+ Block 52 aircraft. These aircraft are equiped with state-of the-art armament, including AIM-120 AMRAAM and the Israeli Python V missile linked to a DASH-3 Helmet Mounted Sight.

In the September of 2023, During the 55th Anniversary of RSAF Open House, Singapore announced the upgrade of F-16C/D/D+ with Python V made by Israeli company Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, incorporated with a new imaging infrared (IIR) seeker with an improved signal processing system and an improved onboard inertial measurement unit (IMU) that provides the weapon with lock-on-after-launch (LOAL) capabilities, along with the Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System (JHMCS) and the Display and Sight Helmet System (DASH) .

The upgrade includes the replacement of a mechanical radar with Northdrop Grumman AN/APG-83 AESA Radar.

The weapon was incorporated into the RSAF's fleet of upgraded F-16 C/D/D+ fighters as part of the aircraft's mid-life upgrade (MLU) programme. The majority of the work is carried out locally at ST Engineering
