Beta (pronounced bee-tah and sometimes stylized as ßeta, beta or BETA) is a heavyweight robot built by John Reid of Team Hurtz, which originally intended to compete in Season 5.0 of Comedy Central BattleBots, but had to withdraw. It also had to pull out of World Championship I, but returned for World Championship II, V and most recently, World Championship VII.Built to replace KillerHurtz after Season 4.0, the original build of Beta sported an 11kg aluminum alloy hammer head, notably including neodymium-iron-boron magnets proving approximately 400kg of downforce.[1] The robot was armored in 25mm LexGard polycarbonate with 5mm stainless steel corner armor plates.[1] (Battlebots Wiki)
