F62M
F62M is the direct successor of the F62 , in 1948 , Indonesia thought their fleet of F62s are already outdated due to their lack of maneuverbility and secondary weapons , Indonesia Aerospace Bureau heard this and deciced to solve it in 2 ways , first they separate their bureaus with Sector's , Sector 1 would focus to improving the F62 , Sector 2 would develop a new plane to replace the F62s , the appearance of the MiG-15 also make a new problem , Indonesia wanted a plane that would outfight the MiG-15 , making the requirement harder , in 1949 , the 2 sector's came up with their design , Sector 1 came up with F62M , heavily upgraded with an engine with 70% more thrust and 6 hardpoints , it can carry 500 lb or 250 lb bombs and all types of rockets , the Sector 2 design werent fully finished at the time , but due to their more advance design they were given more time to work on it , the F62M soon entered service and pilot's opinion are mixed , some pilots liked it because of it speed and multirole capability , some didnt liked it mainly because it lacked guns , for guns F62M relies on 2 GPU-30 gun pods that werent very reliable , pilots protested on this and soon a later variant , F62MB brings back the 2 20mm cannon , the plane entered service in 1950 and break several speed and altitude record with maximum altitude of 21 km and 1700 km/h at sea level , the record remains unbreakable for 9 years , the old F62s soon retired , some were kept as a experimental planes , museum items and for schools , F62Ms later retire in 1983
