(WWII Bomber Challenge) Heinkel He-222 "Eindringling"

30.0k Dumpworks  7.1 years ago

This was developed under Germany's philosophy of the "Schnell bomber", meaning that a bomber is so fast it can outrun the fighters of the enemy, this aircraft has some noticeable similarities to Heinkels infamous He-111, though unlike the He-111 it has no bombay, no defensive gunner position, it has divebrakes to allow it to divebomb at angles up to and around 60°'s, it's 3 engines and 5 props allow it to accelerate up to 400+ mph, though the aircraft like many German projects it never got past the design stage (VTOL for air brakes)
