When the Kepler 90 dominion started being heavily attacked by the Gliese system, they desperately needed fighters capable of flying inside Kepler 90c's peculiar atmosphere. The Gliese enemies started a large scale attack on Kepler 90c, the smallest planet of the system, planing to wipe it out of existence. The KAI (Kepler Aerospace Industries) then mass produced these fast fighters, to defend Kepler 90c. When the attack from gliese came, they didn't stand a chance against the wrath of the wasps, which decimated the entire Gliese bomber fleet, of 90 bombers. After that engagement, the KAI 42 Wasp bacame the standard bomber killer and fighter of the Kepler C planet, being one of the few planes capable of flying in it's weird atmosphere.
