Lore.

Backround

The USL wanted a new 5th gen stealth fighter to combat other countries like ruskovia who were making their own, they contracted ACI to build it, they started working on it in 2007 making the first prototype in 2010

prototypes and design issues

the prototype first flew in 2010 and had a successful first flight, but on the second flight, One of it's two massive engines flamed out at mach 1.2 in a turn causing it to flip sideways and it's left wing to shatter from over Gs, the pilot was able to eject but suffered from flame out, which was caused due to having small inlets, and the airframe was not strong enough to withstand the Gs pulled after the flameout. They also found out that it only a very skilled pilot could use the TVC with full afterburners, it's main ATA armament is 2-4 ACIASAT-1s ATA missiles that can also be used as anti satellite missiles.

Production and service

The ACI-A-82 was finished in 2020 with 20 being delivered to the USLAF, they instantly started live weapons training with tensions brewing all around the world, then it happened, in February 22nd 2021 Ruskovia declared war on lykania at first the USL remained neutral, but in May 19th 2021 a Ruskovian Kiev-class attacked, at first 3 Mig-29s attacked two ACI-A-82s during a live weapons training exercise, the 2 easily took down the 3, but the second 82 suffered from a mechanical failure, the kiev then launched more planes, the 82 taking down some of them but got overwhelmed, then a lykainian plane rescued it before they took down the two final targets, more here the aftermath from this was huge, even for the plane itself, they found that the huge engines burned way more fuel than expected, needing a drop tank, but not wanting to sacrifice speed, they made a special drop tank the E.T.M.D.T (Ejected top mounted drop tank) added to the block 2 model (clicky)
