Su-27SR(MSTO) Flanker-S, Vlakland Air Force
The Sukhoi Su-27SR(MSTO) Flanker-S is a specialized Electronic Warfare and Reconnaissance variant, born from a conversion and upgrade of the Su-27SM/STOAR Flanker B model, exclusively operated by the Vlakland Air Force. Equipped with capabilities for Electronic Warfare, SIGNT, and ELINT, it boasts the flexibility of taking off and landing anywhere, thanks to its arresting hook, although not intended for carrier operations. Its integration of western avionics adds to its versatility, making it a formidable asset in various operational scenarios.
Following the dissolution of the USSR in 1991 and the subsequent diminished threat from the successor state which was the Kalingrad Federation, the Vlakland Air Force retired its SAAB J 35SRs (a photo recon variant of the J 35S). However, with rising tensions in 2008, especially from the now aggressive Kalingrad Federation, Vlakland sought a new reconnaissance aircraft capable of versatile deployment within its borders. This quest led to the conversion of 10 Su-27SM/STOARs into the Su-27SR(MSTO) variant by Special Mission Services Inc. Starting with 2 initial deliveries to Electronic Warfare Squadron 23, the Vlakland Air Force eventually expanded its fleet to 16, concluding deliveries by 2015.

@Liquidfox01 well most NATO reporting names is based on the aircraft role like Fighter, Cargo, Helicopter or Misc.
