Vehicle Intro:
The TWOV (Tornado Warning and Observe Vehicle) is a fictional storm-chasing vehicle. It has a crew of four, an instrument package on the roof, a remote-controlled camera turret(Not implemented), and an antennae that serves as a radar too. It has a safe operational top speed of no more than 100MPH, but it could go up to 150MPH in testing.
Many mistake the white rectangular dish on top of the vehicle for a radar. It is actually a comm antennae that could serve as a radar too. Due to its limitations, the antennae cannot scan like a normal radar, but rather, a remote MESONET that has a scan range of 150M aloft in a 5Mx5M area. The spatial resolution of the dish, while in radar mode, is 50X50X100cm, which means every scan is 10X10X150 pixels. Therefore, the radar's data is mostly used to analyze the vertical wind motion near tornadoes along with photogrammetry data gathered via turret. The temporal resolution is 0.1s per scan, which makes the radar extremely effective in determining wind speed.
