@Luuk2909 lol
@Luuk2909 hahaha
I know a far more dangerous one, its called the aircraft carrier XD @kampfer @Pacman126
@kampfer wow
@Pacman126 St Maarten isn't overly difficult, it's a non precision approach yes, but so is many other airports, a larger aircraft like the 747 would make it inherently challenging due to the terrain on the upwind as well as the relatively short runway. Madeira is scary due to the winds and turbulence but if I have to choose the hardest landing it's probably Paro airport in Bhutan, I used to attempt that approach all the time in the 737 simulator and the precision required to do that in nil wind is difficult enough, most of the time I barely stop at the end of the runway! Not to mention only 8 pilots in the world are officially qualified to do that.
@kampfer to be honest, now days the hardest landing is St Maarten, Skiathos or Madeira.
@kampfer oh yeah, I got my angles mixed up. I was meant to say around 50
@Luuk2909 What @kampfer said :3
@Luuk2909 it is a checkerboard located on the hill as a visual cue for the pilot commence the turn onto final for the VHHX Runway 13 approach. That being said it's definitely not a 110 right turn. From 088 to runway heading of 136 is 48 degrees right turn. Source- Used to work in a 737 simulator with the approach before becoming a 787 pilot.
It was known as one of the hardest approaches in the world, you can YouTube kaitak approach for more info
What is this exactly?
