BV-58 Flying Wing
During the late stages of World War 2, multiple BV-38 hulls in various states of completion were discovered by the US army in an abandoned warehouse. These hulls were shipped back to America with military officials allowing some funding to be spent on studying and modernizing them.
Although the combat use of the BV-38 had long been made obsolete, it’s use in other sectors was realized and it instead was designed for a humanitarian and research role and was outfitted with experimental STOL and thrust vectoring capabilities. By 1958, three completed models were unveiled and were pressed into service as secondary Red Cross disaster relief vehicles and, eventually, found use as atmospheric research vehicles.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Takeoff: Trim down, throttle 100%. Pull up after 180mph.
Landing: Activate landing gear and gradually reduce throttle. Like the BV-38, this model also comes equipped with gyroscopic landing assist.
STOL: AG1, trim up for throttle controls and VTOL for direction.
