The Mil Mi-8 is a medium helicopter of Russian origin, it is the most produced helicopter in the world today and is in service with circa 80 countries, both in military and civilian applications, since 1961 the helicopter served in various combat and peacetime operations, notably in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Bosnia, in peacetime the passenger version is in service with several helicopter carriers and rescue organizations.

The helicopter is powered with two Klimov TV-3-117MT turboshaft engines, with 1,950 HP each, this made the helicopter capable of reaching a speed of 250km/h (160mph) and a service ceiling of 5,000m (16,000ft), with a big fuel capacity it can fly up to a range of 960km (600 mi), and for the military version, it has 4 hardpoints on the earlier Mi-8Ts, capable of fitting a UB-16-57 rocket pods or 9M17 Phalanga ATGMs, and two side mounted PK machine guns.

The helicopter is produced in several variants, whether it be cargo, passenger, armed, or many others, in this build the variant is the Mil Mi-8MT, an armed military utility version, it has 2 UB-16-57 pods carrying S-5 rockets, two 9M17 Phalanga ATGMs with 2,5km (1,55 mi) range, and two side mounted PK machine guns.
