G-9D Cougar
The G-9D was the last variant of the Cougar series and one of the most modern at it's time.
Development History
In 1954 an order was proposed for a new Cougar variant. Specifications were a new swept wing, higher speed and new electronic devices for the new Grey Ghost missile.
As a result, the "Hob Goblin", as it was called by the crews, have a new and more streamlined looks.
First enter production in 1956. The G-9D Cougar was used in many roles, usually as an interceptor and fighter but also as a bomber and attacker. As a result it was designed as a Multirole aircraft.
Many were produced in the span of 10 years (1955-1965) ad it was utilised untill the 80s.
The Grey Ghost missile is only for interceptions, using it in a dogfight would be futile. Use it for unsuspecting aircraft that fly straight.
