The J-7 (Chinese code: Jmur7, English: Chengdu J-7/F-7 fighter aircraft, NATO code: Fishbed, translation: fish nest) fighter is a single-seat, single-engine supersonic jet fighter developed by Shenyang aircraft Manufacturing Plant of China in the 1960s. The J-7 is a replica of the Soviet Union MIG-21 Hou-13. After that, the machine was transferred to Chengdu aircraft Factory and Guizhou aircraft Manufacturing Plant for follow-up improvement and mass production. The J-7 is the first twice-sonic jet fighter developed by China, which is heavily equipped with Chinese air force and naval aviation, mainly for territorial air defense and seizing frontline air supremacy on the battlefield, and can also carry out ground-to-ground attack missions. it is a typical second-generation fighter. The J-7 is characterized by outstanding high-altitude and high-speed characteristics, light and flexible characteristics, low cost, high efficiency and simple use and maintenance.
