QAS IR-2B Chimera
TL;DR: Plane identifies as an Attack Helicopter (Gone Explosive)
Please at least read the Operation section!
The IR-2B Chimera is classified as a twin engine light attack autogyro and is the direct successor to the IR-1A Harpy. The Chimera was designed to improve on the various shortcomings of the Harpy, and to further continue research into the viability of auto-gyros in modern combat. The purpose of the Chimera is to combine the speed and range benefits of a fixed wing aircraft with the slow flight handling and maneuverability of a helicopter.
The Chimera addresses most of the major vulnerabilities that the Harpy possesses. It is much more capable in a dogfight, can take more damage on average, and has better slow speed stability. The Chimera is best suited for counter insurgency operations against soft targets. However, due to the lack of guided munitions and targeting pod, the Chimera favors in short and medium ranged engagements.
Cockpit Interior
The layout is designed to be used by VR users, but feedback is needed incase there is any glaring functional or ergonomic issues. Queso Airlines currently does not have the budget for a VR headset. We spent it all on rockets!
Armament
42 HE Rockets
Explosion Damage: 320
Carries 50% more rockets compared to the 'Harpy'.
"Explosion!"
2 APAC-30L Autocannons
Impact Damage: 10-60
Explosion Damage: 75
Gun Convergence: ~950 Meters
Fire Rate: 800 RPM
Very fast firing autocannons with a respectable punch. The APAC 'L' model is reconfigured to exclusively use lighter aluminum projectiles which allows it to fire at a faster rate than the APAC-37. The tradeoff is reduced impact damage and a smaller explosive charge.
"More Dakka!"
Max Speed: 652 kph (405 mph)
Never Exceed Speed: 735 kph (457 mph) or Mach 0.6
Stall Speed: 100 kph (62 mph) This is when the wings stall, Not the rotor.
Service Ceiling: 8000 Meters (26,247 Feet)
Maximum Range: ~900 km (500 Miles) @7500 meters & 75% Throttle
Max Sustained Turn Rate: 25 Degrees Per Second
Action Group 1 increases the collective or blade pitch by a few degrees for momentary increased lift. The drag caused by using it will slow the rotor rpm considerably and may lead to a partial or complete loss of control if used for too long. The minimum control speed is 320 rpm and the minimum lift speed is 280 rpm. The maximum is 600 rpm, but the ECU will automatically compensate to avoid destroying the rotor.
For takeoff, the trim should be in the downward or aft position to tilt the bottom of the rotor towards the airstream. Rotation occurs at speeds greater than 100 kph and a rotor rpm above 280. The rpm should be higher than 280 at all times. The aircraft might stall when the rpm is lower than 280 and performing high angles of slip.
To perform a VTOL takeoff, use the electric starter with AG4 and wait until rpm is near 300. Set the throttle to 100% and quickly activate and deactivate AG1. This will temporarily lift the aircraft until the propellers reach maximum power. Keep the nose at +10 degrees to avoid touching the ground again.
When in slow flight,(less than 200 kph), the Chimera behaves more as helicopter rather than a fixed wing aircraft. Most of the lift is being generated by rotor, thus rpm should stay above 320 to avoid sinking. Yaw authority is greatest at these speeds and can be used to make quick turns.
In order to make a quick turn, set the trim to full aft to slow down, and reduce power to 45%-55%. Roll in the direction of the turn while applying light backpressure and rudder. Harsh inputs may disrupt the stability of the aircraft and should be avoided.
At high speeds,(more than 400 kph), the Chimera behaves as a fixed wing aircraft. Trim should be set to neutral to reduce the drag created by the rotors.
We still will not disclose how to land. Pilot discretion is advised

@QuesoAirlines ey! Thats good to know!
I'm still making stuff @DatRoadTrainGuy19 , but I keep on starting projects and never finishing them. I'm going to upload something soon though.
Hey mate, ya still alive to this day man?
@QuesoAirlines Nice But U Should Improve The Cockpit.
This thing looks much like a Rotodyne but somewhat like a P51
Ikea colors are very nice
Kinda stupid: yes
Completely awesome: HELL yes!
I like it!
Also: more rockets = more better
Helicopter no
Aircraft yes
Very unique design! Really cool to do it that way!
Very weird design but luckily enough i like weird! lol
