The IL-96 is a Soviet and Russian wide—body passenger aircraft for medium and long-haul airlines, developed by the Ilyushin Design Bureau in the late 1980s. The IL-96 became the first Soviet wide-body long-range aircraft. Designed for 300-435 passengers and a flight range of 9,000 km; uses Soviet/Russian PS-90A engines. Along with the A340 and A380, this aircraft had no accidents with casualties (there were no accidents with the Il-96 at all until 2010).
