Classification: Jet Fighter
The F-17 Sabre was the first ever successful American swept wing fighter jet. It featured decent acceleration boasting 3 Blasto J-15 engines mounted in a symmetrical fashion for optimal power distribution. Though relatively large for a fighter, it had an amazing roll rate and decent elevator control making it surprisingly agile. However, being the first swept wing design, it had a high stall speed making landings difficult. To remedy this issue, the landing gear was stiffened to withstand more powerful forces when landing. The aircraft boasted 6x M3 Browning machine guns on the wings mounted close to the fuselage to mitigate dispersion.
