The XM-12 Vulture was a bomber interceptor and fighter interceptor although it was not ment to dogfight.Built in the 1950s during the Cold-War ,The XM-12 Vulture was equiped with 6 Bomber Optimised Interceptors Missiles designed to Eliminate bombers who were unfortunate enough to be hit by one of the Powerful missiles.Its Vertical engine layout or VEL was powerful and could easily intercept large bombers, fuel tankers and Cargo Planes.The plane Lasted until the 2000s when it was replaced with the XM-30 Sparrow.The plane served in the Korean War and the Cold War ,it was built through 1951-1991 it served 50 years.1200 still remain at museums, air-shows and Raf bases.
