Saudi Arabian Airlines Flight 763 (SV763) is a scheduled flight from the Indian capital New Delhi to the eastern city of Zahran in Saudi Arabia. Kazakhstan Airlines Flight 1907 [2] (K41907) is an Ilyushin Il-76TD cargo plane departing from the then capital of Kazakhstan, Almaty, via the southern city of Shymkent to New Delhi.On November 12, 1996, Saudi Arabian Airlines Flight 763 [1] (Boeing 747-168B, No. HZ-AIH), which had just taken off from Indira Gandhi International Airport, collided with Kazakhstan Airlines Flight 1907 [2], which was approaching the same airport, over Chakidari in the Haryana state near New Delhi. A total of 349 people on board the two aircraft died, making it the third most serious air crash in aviation history and the most serious air collision crash.
