@VViiMini. I would first like to offer my condolences for the loss of your grandmother. Second... it is true that their were many deaths in the event of the great flood, however he has saved millions & millions more to come with the sacrifice of his one and only son Jesus Christ. Sorry it took me so long to respond...

@Mrm19 It’s not that I don’t think that god doesn’t love me, it’s that I don’t think he exists. I’ve been an atheist my entire life. I don’t need the threat of hell to prevent me from murdering and raping. God murdered more than 1000 humans alone, not including the passage of Noah’s arc, in which god causes millions of humans and animals to suffer until death. Satan murdered 21 people. My grandmother was a devout Christian and died of brain cancer 3 months ago. If a god exists, he hates people.

@VViiMini “fear” for your elders and for the lord is brought up many time throughout the word and is primarily used as synonym for respect... to fear the lord is a good thing... it is what keeps you grounded in this world, for example... fear of spending eternity in hell will keep you from committing atrocities such as murder, adultery, etc.

@Mrm19 In the paragraph, it states “Slaves, be obedient to your human masters with fear and trembling…” Fear and respect dont go together.

@VViiMini why yes it is true that Ephesians 6:5 says this, however if you read Ephesians 6:4 it says “ Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. ... Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.” Which I interpret as saying children/servants (keep in mind in the time this was written children were to serve their parents) should respect their masters/parents and masters and parents alike should have respect for there servants and not tear them down but to teach and build them up.

In other words, god is ok with slavery. He sure loves us!

Ephesians 6:5-8 Paul states, “Slaves, be obedient to your human masters with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ” which is Paul instructing slaves to obey their master. Similar statements regarding obedient slaves can be found in Colossians 3:22-24, 1 Timothy 6:1-2, and Titus 2:9-10.
