The Grumman F-14 Tomcat was a twin-engine, two-seat, supersonic fighter jet designed for the U.S. Navy in the 1960s. It served for over 30 years, including in the first Gulf War and Operation Iraqi Freedom. The Tomcat was known for its variable-sweep wings, which allowed it to fly at high speeds for interceptions and slow down for carrier landings.
