FF-17-B Falcon

40.2k Typhoon03  5.2 years ago
Auto Credit Based on Typhoon03's FF-17-B Falcon

History:
In early 2019 SMC Aerospace reverse-enginerred an anti-ship suicide drone. However the system had its problems: the drones could not be operated individually if an aircraft was loaded with more than one and did not always strike its target accurately. The Saltwater Air Force wanted to integrate an improved second-generation model but did not possess any aircraft capable of launching them. The Peregrine fighters didn't have the payload capacity, the Osprey II strike fighters couldn't launch them due to their wing geometry and the Dark Arrow heavy attack aircraft didn't have the ground clearance.
.
In the September of that year the problem was solved when the Saltwater Air Force was offered ten FF-17 Falcon strike fighters for free. They had the perfect payload, speed and ground clearance and so on delivery they were converted to carry four of the top-secret drones. Now designated FF-17-B the aircraft took part in a range of trials, where their new weapons proved highly successful in the anti-ship role, destroying all of their mock-up targets with a great deal of precision. They now form No.2 Special Attack Squadron, stationed at NovrdLisch Aerodrome.
.
Instructions:
General Flight:
AG1 for afterburner.
AG2 arms the main gun.
AG3, AG4, AG5 and AG6 arm drones and their cannons.
AG7 fires the ejector seat.
VTOL up for flaps.
TRIM is reversed.
.
To operate a drone:
1. Acquire a target.
2. Fire Inferno.
3. As you near your target open fire. Ignore the "damaged" messages.
.
Credit must be given to methirasoysa123 for the original FF-17. Without him this aircraft would not have been possible.

Our engineers copied the airframe from photographs. The internal systems are indigenously produced.

One of our bombers landed with one embedded in the fuselage. It was then reverse-enginerred through the damaged example and various photographs.

May I ask how you got those drones in the RP timeline again?

Correct. So it'll take about one real-life day.

Ok, I'll send out a flight of Peregrine fighters to escort them in. The retro-fit will take two weeks, plus three weeks for systems integration. We shall also supply 1000 drones for use. Each aircraft will be fitted to carry two drones.

Could you give me a link so I can work out how many drones we can fit per aircraft?
    .
How many are you sending for modification?

I will probably send some F-1's or F-15's.

It will cost about $3 million per aircraft. What aircraft are you sending for modification?

Would you like us to retro-fit the capability to fire these drones onto any of your aircraft?
