EMW A13B Valkyrie
Notes
-Flies really well
-Mainly just a test for the custom surfaces, sorry for the lack of details
-Recommend setting Trim to the first tick-mark down
Controls
-VTOL: Deploy air brakes
-Action groups 1&2: Fire missiles (Guardians)
-Action group 7: Deploy landing parachute
-For ejection: Switch to camera 1. Activate group 5. If under 2,500 feet, activate group 6 after three to five seconds. If between 2,500-5,000 feet activate group 5, then wait for ten to fifteen seconds. If above 5,000 feet, wait between 20 and 25 seconds (I think these times should be correct).
Submitted to the RLM by the Gunther-Schmitt Flugzeugkonzern in 1944 (though EMW took over just after submission), the A13 Valkyrie was to be a modified version of the Aggregate A6. It was to be altered to fill an interception role instead of reconnaissance. As such, it would have held more fuel, and needed a lengthened fuselage to accommodate the extra rocket propellant ant jet fuel. It was to have four hardpoints, two under each wing, to be fitted with air-to-air missiles, though the missile type was not specified. It sat a single pilot in a dome canopy, giving him excellent visibility. It was intended that once an Allied bomber formation was detected, the plane would be able to fly up to its service ceiling of 80,000 feet if necessary and intercept the bombers, then return to base and land. TO help with slowing down, it would have been equipped with air brakes on the tops of the wings and a landing parachute in the tail. Unlike the A6, the A13 would take off similarly to a conventional fighter, though it would have required far less runway to do so. In the worst case scenario, the aircraft would have had an ejection seat, though it would only have been effective at lower speeds. Like the A6 proposal, the A13 was denied, since the RLM had no need for such an aircraft, and it never made it off the drawing boards.
