DORNIER DO-X 1929

Place cockpit where the one is missing,
Sorry I could not put any decals on here, I want to keep it mobile friendly,
TO FLY: Activate engines 1-5 (RIP headphone users) activate takeoff boost (6) when u are at at least 50mph VTOL up, nose up when at 130mph and you will genteel take off, keep boost on whilst climbing, don't moan cause it has a slow takeoff run, it does weigh over 100,000ibs! Due to this weight it has a phenomenal range! Unfortunately it may cause crashing and game freezes :(

HISTORY:
In the 1920s the only way to get to America from Europe was by steamship, and steamships are slow so when the aeroplane was invented people saw its future, so Dornier, a German aircraft manufacturer decided to put a section of its design team on a transatlantic passenger aircraft! The plane was accepted and first laid down (cause it has a keel) in 1925 and was finished in 1929, it was designed to use 12 Bristol Jupiter radial engines (this version had to use 10 cause it was impractical to use 12 engines as it pushed the nose into the water faster than you can say whizpopbob don't worry a more realistic version is coming but it won't be mobile friendly) so where was I, yes. The engines were prone to overheating and couldn't get the aircraft to over 1400ft so new Curtiss engines were added. The Do-X could carry 66 passengers on long flights and 100 on short ones, passengers were seated in a luxury cabin with smoking room, bar, lounge and seating area, and it even had working toilets, heating and ovens! On the upper deck there was the Navigation room, engineers maintinece door (go downV) cockpit, radio rooms, and on the deck below passengers there was a large cargo hold fuel tanks and watertight compartments! Behind the maintinece door was an engine control room with 12 throttles, gauges and lots of complicated stuff, he could also Walk through the wings and climb out of hatches on the top surface to maintain the engines when the plane was stationary!

@johnp51fighter if it's so crappy why not build something better, go on, I challenge you to a building contest,

@johnp51fighter be constructive with your criticism man. There's no reason to go around telling people that their work is crap. Especially when you haven't made a single thing yourself yet buddy.

@johnp51fighter stop going around telling people that their planes are crap, calling other users stupid and things like that. If you don't put forth the effort to be constructive and get along with people then your time here will be much shorter than you thought. Be cool, and build stuff. So far you aren't doing either of those.

That's what England called them, in the U.S. They are called steam tractors and look very ugly (ours are fancy) or I could just start with the portable engine (traction engine that is towed by horses and used to power farm machines like threshers cider-Apple mulchers and food mills @SpiritusRaptor

@SpiritusRaptor lol yes I've been busy with loads of stuff! I've even got an aqua dromonem II ! I'm in the middle of a bleriot and DH88s I'm litteraly making a metric butt ton of stuff! At the moment (half of its done and just needs to be functional like the new dromonem) but anyways I've been wondering about makeing a traction engine ever since these fuselage blocks came in! I am just not sure how I would make it with all moving parts! I was actualy wondering if you could help when I actualy get round to it (in a LONG time! I've got about 10 named cockpits aswell!) so anyways it shall be a busy few days!

Hahah you will love my next plane! It has 7 50cals 4 20mm Hispano cannons 2 gigantic 50mm French autoloading cannons 4 50ibs streamlined bombs that basicly fires out the fins like shrapnel on impact, 1 gigantic 500ibs bomb (big boy) 2 1/2' unguided HE rockets and two 2' armour piercing composite rigid tipped javelin mk-2 antitank missiles basicly someone said my last plane didn't have enough guns! So I said challenge accepted and fitted as many guns on a plane as possible! Hahahahahahahahhahahah @SpiritusRaptor

What a blast to fly! It was really satisfying once I lifted off the water. Felt like I was playing Aviator the Game. Epic.
