A.38 Air Taxi
The A.38 Air Taxi is an attempt at a pre-jet engine, turbo-prop civilian air shuttle. She would have been first commissioned in 1949.
AG 1 – right engine
AG 2 – left engine
AG 3 – landing lights and speed breaks (break input)
AG 4 – navigation lights
AG 7 – fuselage cabin lights
During take-off, set trim to 50% down, and rotate (pitch up) at 160mph.
For landing, keep speed between 130mph and 160mph; maintain full pitch input while using trim to keep a good, nose -up angle (trim between 100% up and 50% up)... this technique will provide constant pitch momentum as the trim stabilizes the descent and angle. Reduce all engine power to 0 ONLY AFTER her front wheels hit the ground, then when speed falls to less than 90mph, bring her trim to full down to force the tail to the ground and apply breaking power (remember to maintain full pitch input during this process.
