F4U Corsair
With folding wings, rockets, and bombs, this F4U Corsair is ready for carrier operations aboard the USS Junroo. If you haven't set the location yet, this aircraft will help you do just that. The powerful Corsair was built by the Chance Vought company to fit the requirements for a fighter with a range of 1,000 miles, a top speed of at least 300 mph. The construction of the corsair comprised of the most largest engine (Pratt & Whitney Double Wasp) with the smallest possible airframe. The result was a machine capable of speeds of more then 400 mph. In addition to the new airframe, a inverted gull wing was included to accommodate the proper gear height because of the massive prop and intakes. Serving through the end of WWII and some in the Vietnam war, the Corsairs position as a fighter was soon overtaken by jets but it was still an effective ground attack machine.
To Fly: (Land Based) Unfold wings with detaches 1 and use VTOL slider. Return slider. Power up 100% and use rudder to stay centered. (Carrier based) If you have not done so, unfold wings and spawn on North Runway. As soon as you are in the air, drop bombs and rockets. Approach at 90 to 100 mph and sort of glide in.
Try hitting the deck at around 68 mph, and apply full back elevator and brakes. Save location and be ready to strike anywhere. Not as fast as the original, and you should use low settings and physics for best results.
Thanks to @Katrina for the bombs. Rate, comment, Enjoy!
