The Plikarpov model 16 was a Russian strategic bomber of the late 1920's to the mid 1930's. The Russian Repubilc found it to be surprisingly effective despite its age, and was manufactured until the end of the Second Weltkrieg, when Imperial German forces captured Petrograd and Moscow.
