Death Cruiser 10: The plane that has the dangerous reputation
DC-10s were the first Trijet built by McDonnell Douglas with a fixed-straight third engine before the S-duct trijets like the L-1011 Tristar and NAMC YS-33. But DC-10s were considered the most dangerous airliner which suffered 32 hull loses in 55 accidents and incidents, some changes were made to make it the safer airplane in the Jet Age history. The improved and stretched version MD-11 was introduced in 1990 after test flights since 1988.
Changes: modified from the DC-10 Twin by adding a third engine from the MD-11
