Tank Tracks Prototype
Here is my first ever attempt at custom tank tracks in SimplePlanes, honestly I’m actually kinda proud of these; they seem to work pretty well, they can move pretty fast, and they’re exceptionally good at hillclimbing for whatever reason. And for my first ever attempt, I’d say that’s pretty good. Not too big of a post though, just a simple little tank with custom tracks. It’s based roughly on the M4A3E8 Sherman, with a few extra design changes here and there.
I kept the design on the tank itself simple, not only to increase game performance since the tracks were already lagging a bit, but also cause the aesthetic looks nice IMO.
Controls: AG-1 to release tracks, Throttle to accelerate, Yaw to turn, Pitch & Roll to control the turret and machine gun.
Other notes: These tracks, like most if not all custom tracks I’ve seen on SP, tend to get a bit explodey if you turn too hard at high speeds, or sometimes even for seemingly no reason at all. Another thing to note is that they can tend to slough off the track wheels if you’re going downhill too fast, so try to keep it under 20-25mph. For reference, the top speed of these tracks is about 15mph on flat ground.

Ima take this.
Take look at my tracks
@AWESOMENESS360 what i want @Jndroo to do or @AndrewGarrison to do is make a new setting for fuelsage called metal where it cant blow up and will have a sort a sort of gloss and wont explode therefore allowing cool crash landings. @MintLynx, what do u think?
@AWESOMENESS360 I've made a simple jet plane with all parts set to that and smashed it into the pyramid, no damage.
@MintLynx does it really now? Imma have to try that!
Have you tried setting the track parts to "partCollisionResponse = none"? This makes parts immune to physical impact damage and destruction and might help improve these!
This it awesome
@_PolarSpirit the spikes are only there to provide stability, they seem to do the job from what I’ve seen
very sound in design, but i will suggest one thing. i think you could remove the little spikes on the bogie surface so that the tracks don’t spazz out when used. works very well, congrats man.
