Ryan FR Fireball
This is my entry in the Early Jet Challenge.
The Ryan FR "Fireball" was a mixed-power fighter aircraft designed by Ryan Aeronautical for the United States Navy. First flown in June 1944, it was the US Navy's first aircraft with a jet engine.
However, due to its introduction late into the war, only 66 were produced before Japan surrendered in August 1945. As jet technology rapidly evolved after the war's conclusion this peculiar aircraft was withdrawn from operations in mid-1947.
This build is accurate-ish to the real aircraft. It can achieve a maximum speed of around 400mph, as the real Fireball did in 1944. Be aware that a little bit of yaw and some attention is needed at takeoff, but otherwise the plane flies relatively smoothly. AG1 to drop the aircraft's bombs.
Enjoy!
