The Thunderbolt

30 SaintHawk  3.2 years ago
Auto Credit Based on SaintHawk's Thunderbolt Mk.111

Fictional aircraft designed by inspiration from Cold War jets like the Gloster Javelin however, I’ve tried to keep it as realistic as possible.

Designed for ground attack with the following arsenal:
-6x large bombs
-4x smaller bombs
-2x burst miniguns with casing ejection

The underside is armoured from small arms fire, especially around the pilot, but the upper fuselage is not (be careful when banking!).

Controls:
VTOL - Flaps (down for lift/drag, up for air brake/descent)
1 - drop small bombs
2 - drop large bombs
4 - afterburner engage at 95%
8 - canopy closed

Engines and performance:

Thrust provided by 2 jets - afterburner @ >95% throttle when active (4).

-Max speed with afterburner ~ 1160 Kmph
-Stall speed with full load ~ 203 Kmph
-For best G in turns, set flaps to 33%
-wings flex (but no G limit on airframe)

Feel free to modify and improve - I’ve highlighted some areas below that could be better:
-proper shaped wings (fuselage edited over the top)
-space within fuselage for gear to retract into

Credits:

A few components of this aircraft were not initially designed by myself (but were modified and adapted).
Jundroo for some of the Funky tree instruments, chichiwerx for 2 usaf decals, landing gear adapted from Bogdanx, some adapted cockpit instruments from RoastHam9146.
