A prototype, WWII-era fighter. Fictional History: At the end of the war, the USAF needed a new jet fighter. Thunderscreech Engineering created a jet fighter to compete with Lockheed's new P-80 Shooting Star, called the P-62 Swallow. The first prototype has underwhelming performance, until they decided to switch to the P-80's engine, the Allison J33-A-35. The new version had outstanding performance, and was put into service. It is still used to this day as the P-62R Super Swallow. This is the first prototype.
