Moth
The Moth was the reason The Fisher existed. While it entered service during the Conquest of Georgia, it was one of several Fortian airplanes whose development started as soon as they had unified Florida under their banner. Clearly inspired by the Confederal Windows Shades bomber, the rear bottom gun was there in the aircraft from the start, being a remedy to what was the Windows Shades' main weakness. However, the dorsal machine gun nest is more peculiar: it was added in response to the Georgian regime's willingness to use sacrificial units, against which mere superior speed wasn't a truly feasible advantage: they could be faster by virtue of being the bare minimum of a plane. Of course, the real main defense was the darkness of the night.
The Moth is also a strong contrast compared to the Eastern Seaboard heavy bombers: where their defense comes from resilience and bristling with guns, this plane seeks to be fast instead.
While early Fortian wars were fought with former Nova Evropan Dweller equipment shipped during the Exodus, the war they fled from had proven the superiority of airplanes as the bread and butter of an air force. Moreover, the adoption of airplanes served as a political tool: In contrast with the obstinate old Nova Evropan rulers, who refused to adopt even the military means of what they saw as inferior mongrels, invaders and dissolutes or even listen to non-Citizens, Fortia is more than capable of learning from their enemy and adapting their means.
