DISCLAIMER:
I was unable to get this monstrosity to actually take off or fly, no matter the wing area. It's almost as if the physics engine of this game is not supposed to handle planes that are 170m long and weigh 5300 tons...
[wiki:]
The Lockheed CL-1201 was a design study by Lockheed for a large 6,000-ton nuclear-powered transport aircraft in the late 1960s. One envisioned use of the concept was as an airborne aircraft carrier.
The CL-1201 design project studied a nuclear-powered aircraft of extreme size, with a wingspan of 1,120 feet (340 m). Had it been built, it would have had the largest wingspan of any airplane to date, and more than three times that of any aircraft of the 20th century.
The wing would be of crescent form, similar to the British Handley Page Victor V-bomber but, unlike the British design, it was tailless.
A technical drawing of the nuclear power plant to be used on the CL-1201.
Power would be derived from the heat generated by a nuclear reactor and transferred to four jet engines near the rear, where it would superheat the air passing through to provide thrust. The craft would be capable of remaining airborne for extended periods, with an estimated endurance of 41 days. At low altitudes, the jets would burn conventional aviation fuel. In order to take off, the plane required 182 additional vertical lift engines. These were similar to those used in the Boeing 747, a new aircraft at the time.
Two variants were studied, a logistics support aircraft and an airborne aircraft carrier. There was a rumored third variant, but information on such a model has never been made public.
The logistics support variant would have a conventional heavy transport role, carrying hundreds of troops and their equipment at once.
The airborne aircraft carrier would have carried up to 22 fighter aircraft externally and would have had an internal dock capable of handling two air-to-ground shuttle transport aircraft.
Despite the low part count, building this was quite painful due to some bugs that appear at this size. Launching this takes about a minute on my PC, and the dev console says that the calculations are reduced due to how large this plane is.
If you make a successor that is actually able to take off and fly normally, i will give you 10 upvotes and a spotlight (if possible).
update: @cooldude321 did it, although on a small scale

@UltravioletBlood i guess i didnt look enough
@cooldude321 it does, they are just hidden in the fuselage
Increase the lift scale of the wings.
@UltravioletBlood it was way to laggy and crashed
One thing you can try is upping the engine multiplier or simply just adding more engines to the inside of the fuselage. I had plane I was making and the engines wouldn’t work so I basically just added more engines to the inside of the fuselage
@cooldude321 ok good (you can try with the original size too if you want)
Yes, I know New account, But anyways, XML isn't my SweetSpot for coding languages and such, But upon looking in the model itself i noticed a few things, One being you had the liftScale as Default which is one, Maybe try 4-5 for both wings? Also, A few tips If you will, Make the COM at the front of the Wings Inner leading edge, and the 5k Tons is when its fully loaded, Planes, Fuel, Cargo, etc...
@UltravioletBlood
@UltravioletBlood
did it
Please add mini f4 phantoms
@Husky12345 if you check the engines you can see that this is already done. I could set it even higher but that would be too unrealistic
If you can't get it to fly, I suggest editing he engines with Overload. Go to the engine tab, and find where it says power multiplier. Change the number higher, and your engine will be more powerful. try to mess around with it.
59 PARTS ABSOLUTELY POGCHAMP
PEA IS CRAZY
This one deserves to be called the biggest plane in simpleplanes
@Aviators14 yep happened to me too. This should probably launched on PC, and even then i had issues...
@UltravioletBlood if it was not meant to fly then why did you mention if someone could make it fly. Put the Hstab in front of the main wing or below it(still in the hidden space). Setting the engines to that FT code is literally the same thing you had the engines set to but without needing excess fuel when not necessary. *Your engines power multi = 30. I suggested reduce to 10 with a 3x Ab spike when necessary. 10 * 3 = 30. Exact same. *
Without the engines requiring as much air constantly, the need for extra inlets wouldn't be as much. I'm sure the original craft didn't have them stuffed inside so there goes the attention to detail for the replica stand point. And everything that has mass has a weight factor value unless it was edited to reflect 0 mass which I didn't bother checking since i planned to remove them. Especially with as scaled up as they were in size, even though the mass scale shows 1 the scale up value is still a multiplicative factor of the original mass if not altered. I don't claim to be a pro, my friend, but i constantly work on theoretical designs which take alot of patience to dial in and make fly properly without using gyros.
Hey @UltravioletBlood so uhh... when i downloaded the aircraft and i pressed the play button... it kicked me out😭
@MonsNotTheMonster dam...
Lockheed Martin : Bombs? Naahhh, we have Jets as missiles
side look is something cute
