It would be exported widely, and employed in large numbers by many air arms. The F-5E would form a component of the Paternian "Fighter Trinity"; a high-performance interceptor, a versatile multirole fighter, and an efficient light fighter. The F-104 Starfighter would serve as an interceptor, the F-4 Phantom II would serve as a multirole fighter, and the F-5 would serve as a light fighter.
