Short description

Fast and armored tank with powerful weapons. Its mobility allows it to occupy convenient positions. Fire control systems allow for quite effective long-range fire. And a good armor makes it possible to appear in the sights of enemies with impunity.

History

This tank was created in 1997. The old MBT was no longer able to perform its combat functions properly. Its speed was too low, survivability began to lag, and firepower began to give up.

The new tank was created with all the problems taken into account strictly. It was equipped with a very powerful 1,800 HP diesel engine. This allowed the fairly heavy tank to travel at high speed. The tank's survivability was increased by new armor design, a much larger armor space, greater dynamic protection area, and a lower silhouette. The entire ammunition was placed in the rear of the turret and covered with baffle plates to save the crew in case of detonation.

A new 150 mm smoothbore gun with two-plane stabilization and automatic loader was installed. New sighting systems increased the effective range up to 2.5 km. The APFS of such a gun had very high penetration, the HEAT round did devastating damage, and the HE carried an explosive charge almost like a small bomb. Only one problem remained: guns of such calibers had a high dispersion.

The tank was used extensively in a number of combat contests. Because of its powerful cannon, the tank was sometimes used as a self-propelled artillery unit. Enemy tanks could hardly do anything to the turret's frontal armor. Anti-tank grenade launchers of infantrymen could not do serious damage to the tank. But if something happened, the crew carried in the basket behind the turret a set of spare parts and tools for repair.

Here is a modification from 2005, with a slightly different gun, which had the ejector moved. And slightly improved stabilization.

some instructions

1. If the horizontal stabilizer pisses you off, you can turn it off. But be careful. Turning it off rotates the cannon to the right, or to the left. Sometimes a lot. And the stabilizer is not friendly with going over zero degrees. You have to take that into account, too.
2. For long-range shooting, use a trim. Lower it down and you will increase your aiming accuracy. I have been able to achieve very high accuracy. The problem comes in another way: the guns in the SP have a spread. The projectile may fail to hit, even if you aim accurately.
3. When switching control modes, be careful. I recommend bringing the throttle and gun pointing to the zero position. You will not get hurt, but you may not pay attention to something and it will end badly
4. When driving on asphalt, I RECOMMEND USING medium physics.
5. I tried to do a realistic damage model here, but it didn't work very well. Yes, so can withstand a shot to the forehead even with a high-powered weapon, but it doesn't penetrate well into the side either. And there's thin armor. I don't know how that happened. And the ERA would help with battlefield survival, too.
