IJN Yukikaze Destroyer
- Japanese Destroyer "Yukikaze", exact date unknown, however, as it is in her Late Retrofit version(hinted by the AA complement and removal of the aft superfiring 12.7cm), it is assumed it is taken between 1944-45, digitally colorized(lmao)
...ohhhaa?
this is my returning gift(not really exactly 100% returning, maybe like 60% since now I'm more busier with life, but you know, yeah.)
ANYWAY, yes, i know i know, Japanese Destroyer haha lmao now now WAIT WAIT ILL EXPLAIN!!
anyway, yes, I'd say... this is one of my first re-return to older stuff and i can't say anything but that i genuinely enjoy making her(to this extent anyway), she still lacks a lot and as such, is not really truly my best, but for what i am used to, it's just... uhuhu... FUN!!
man i should make more ships using my methods, mmm.
anyway, this is something i casually researched and replicated(does help that I have a papercraft of her late refit however correct that is), so my apologies if you can point out flaws, which, do tell, don't let me bask in ignorance, as a wise man once said, "sad man is ignorant; but it is great if sad man knows that he is ignorant!!"
anyway now to twist the knife, of which that I know I didn't model/replicated, I will list.... below...
- Type-96 25mm AA(all onboard) have straight magazines(they're supposed to be slanted a bit, I've fixed the AA in another revision but to replace all of the AA onboard her is a pain so no.)
- Depth Charge Rack, could've used labels to replicate the grandness of details but I digress, next time around i suppose.
- Depth Charge Carts(self-explanatory)
- the famous "Yukikaze" writing on her side
- Lifeboats etc.
- riggings and lines
- Torpedo Turret Details(+ the reload for it and details for that)
anyway yea, pretty much, hauwh.
The Kagero-class destroyers (??????, Kagero-gata Kuchikukan) were a class of nineteen 1st Class destroyers built for the Imperial Japanese Navy during the 1930s, and operated by them during the Pacific War, when all but one were lost. It also called Shiranui-class destroyers (???????, Shiranui-gata Kuchikukan) because the second ship, Shiranui was launched before first ship, Kagero
Yukikaze (??, "Snowy Wind") was a Kagero-class destroyer in service with the Imperial Japanese Navy during World War II. She was the only member of her class to survive the war, and did so without suffering any major damage. She participated in the battles of Java Sea, Midway, and Santa Cruz and various naval engagements in the Guadalcanal campaign, before undertaking escort missions during the Battle of the Philippine Sea, partaking in her last major surface engagement in the Battle of Leyte Gulf, and seeing her last major action escorting the battleship Yamato during the Battle of Okinawa. Following the war, the ship was transferred to the Republic of China Navy, where she was renamed Dan Yang (?? DD-12) and served until 1966, before being scrapped in 1970

- Roll : Turn
- Trim : Gun Convergence
- VTOL : Torpedo Turret(torpedoes are set to spread, "to whom it may concern" kind of accuracy.)
- Autoaim(if on firing arc)
[ Armaments ]

- 32x Type-95 Depth Charges dropped from Stern Racks
- Type-93 Active Sonar + Type-93 Hydrophone
[ Notes ]
- feels fun to be back making ships, ohoho
- many lacking, but enough good lmao
- the DP main battery for AA is more so a suggestion rather than effective defense, akin to the real life capability of the said guns... hey, atleast the Type-96 does something, although probably not as.. great as their respectable counterparts, still, one or two aircrafts it can hold a candle to
- aimed to be very simple(sub 400 parts and below) but it broke the limit so might as well give it railings and some details lol
- btw, slow acceleration, so do be patient while it gains speed, hella fast and maneuverable when it reaches the full flank speed though so yea, hecc yesh
- the sad man quote, if i remember correctly, actually goes like "the most unfortunate thing is for a man to be ignorant; and the most joyful thing is that the man knows it.", quite fond of that one i am.
- the superstructure has the *cough* glass not actually 100% exactly glued to the tower, I can do it traditionally but that would cost a decent amount of parts, sides, you won't notice it if I didn't tell ya, unless you are one of the keen-eyed ones lol

- @LocalDealer(you meanie, ignoring me TwT, anyway thanks lmao) for the firing arc activated FT for the guns

- @Mousewithamachinegun122 & @Speedhunter for pushing me to give a better ship control overall
P.S. btw if you wanna try sub-hunting, here's some of my target subs, oho.

the Ms. ~Nanoda!!! of Azur Lane, Yukikaze
btw, expect the free-to-use Type-93 25mm AA/AT Gun lineup coming up soon, mhmh
expect more japanese destroyers forward, I still wanna complete the Type 3 12.7cm/50 gun lineup(currently only Type C mount available) so either id go for Fubuki, or Ayanami, or the later destroyers with Type D mounts, we'll see how it'll go, prolly won't be Shimmy since she's rather... overdone over and over by everyone I should say? gisv us more varied jap destroyers aaaa

Shimakaze Next!
this looks so graceful, i love it
GOOD
@towarisch1145 it is a rather interesting fate, she always manages to escape the grasp of death
There is a rumor: Yukikaze escorts which ship, and that ship will be sunk.(From China)
@MobileBuilder21 thanks!! ( ^▽^ )
Excellent work
@Zhixunlin23 text part is really versatile, you can use it for chains, railings, riggings, windows... makes an easy low part alternative to much of the more traditional methods(by using fuselages)
@Monarchii thanks for the tip
@Zhixunlin23 glad you like the text trick lmao, saves part you see XD
This ship has the best anchor chain
@TWDDerSharkmarine well, for now, I have yet to test them to be honest(and thus some may be eligible for exclusion), and I plan to do it one of this days, maybe after Murakumo, don't worry
@Monarchii its alright, there's really one thing that's just bugging me out really
.
PEA are losing its meaning, unfortunately....
@Monarchii
Oh, thats nearly perfect then
@localf15enjoyer for now, expect more nipponese dds lmao
