Macchi M.C. 72
This is such a beautiful plane, I hope I've done it justice... That being said, I am pretty proud of this build.
The Macchi M.C. 72 was an experimantal seaplane designed and built by the Italian aircraft company Macchi Aeronautica. The M.C. 72 held the world speed record for all aircraft for five years. In 1933 and 1934, it set a world speed record for piston engine-powered sealanes, which still stands today. Top speed: 441 mph.
Flight controls are standard.
No Ag controls.
I added retractable wheels, so you can land on land (not historically accurate). I also added air brakes (not historically accurate) because it’s kinda hard to land without them. This baby just doesn’t want to slow down.
I hope you guys like it, I think this might be my best work so far...

Haha awesome! I’m so glad you like it. It truly was a beautiful plane, I’d love to see one irl. But I don’t even know if any of them exist anymore. I mean, there’s surely at least one in a museum. Anyway, all those Schneider Cup Racers are super cool. Thank you for your comments and feedback!
@PlaneCreator1
Also it has a great smooth flight too and great color also great takeoff that this airplane has and great smooth landing, Keep this business on! 👍👍😁
This is it this is what I was talking about thanks a lot for putting the description about it thanks, also Btw it surprising that the color was red ,finally I get to see the airplane on my profile picture in game thanks! @Hyattorama
@Hyattorama no problem! was checking some builds of yours
Thanks buddy! :) @MAHADI
Wow man thank you so much for all the upvotes!!! That is very cool of you :) @MAHADI
whoa! awesome wings!
Thanks man!! It’s a combination of things, as you might expect; first, you’ll notice that the wing loading is very low, unrealistically low. Because all five wing parts are much bigger than you would expect, especially the primary wings and the vertical stabilizer. But all the wing parts are 0.1 scale and hidden, as I’m sure you know. Also, the primary wings are moved outboard on the “wings” (fuselage parts), which helps a lot with the roll stabilization. Then; pretty much all the fuselage parts and other parts on the plane (besides the wing parts) have zero or very little drag. Also, the entire plane is scaled down by 0.5 from the original size that I built it, that helps with stabilization too. And after that; just your standard trial and error with getting the center of lift and center of mass in the right positions with respect to each other, as well as fiddling with the size of the control surfaces. I hope all of that made sense... hahaha. @ChiChiWerx
Great work here...if you don’t mind revealing a secret or two: How did you make it so stable? It barely bobbles at all with control inputs...
Ah man that is so awesome! I’m super jealous! :) @LeonardoEngineering
You think so? Haha that would be cool! Although, at the end of November I’m going away for several months and I won’t have access to Internet. So that’s going to slow my progress. And I don’t think I can get to platinum in five weeks. @FastDan
You're going to have the record for the quickest user to get to platinum of you keep this up! :D
@Hyattorama I see this beauty and her whole family pretty often when I visit the Italian Air Force Museum in Bracciano, Rome. Always amazed me since I was a child
@Hyattorama no problem!
Thanks!! :) :) @MrSilverWolf
Awesome!
Thanks man :) I will keep doing my best! @F104Deathtrap
@Hyattorama Absolutely. And the presentation is great. Keep up the good work!
Ah ok right on. I hope you’re having an awesome vacation!! @ThePrototype
OH YES, I'm on vacation and haven't had time to start it yet. I'm also trying to start another project as well. @Hyattorama
Yeah, I guess maybe my presentation is lacking? I don’t know. Still, it worth it when I get comments like yours, so I’m not complaining :) really, thank you, that made me feel really good :) I am so glad that someone has enjoyed my build! @F104Deathtrap
@Hyattorama No, thank you! These Schneider Cup racers are some of my favorite planes, and this is the best Castoldi I've ever seen. I'm actually a bit upset more people haven't upvoted this thing.
Thanks man! @F104Deathtrap
Thanks very much!! :) @Trainzo
:) thanks man! @JelloAircraftCorporation
